Our Practice

Patients at Aurora Healthcare are encouraged to be active participants in their healthcare through open dialogue, a user-friendly patient portal, and choosing if they wish to be seen through traditional and non-traditional means. Our patients range in age from birth to 100, and we are proud to offer an equally wide range of flexible payment types including most health insurances and cash options for uninsured patients. As a private practice not affiliated with a particular hospital, we have the freedom to refer our patients to the specialists best suited for them regardless of the specialists' network affiliation. Complying by our mission statement; we not only give you time to discuss your concerns with your provider in a non-rushed setting, we offer old fashioned home visits and in-office visits while expanding with the everchanging future of healthcare by offering telehealth and virtual visits.

Dawn LeVasseur, FNP-C

I started my career as a CNA in the 90's and earned my Registered Nurse Degree in 2003 from UMaine. I continued my education and obtained a Master's degrees in Nursing and Health Administration from the University of Phoenix while working in the ER & ICU. In 2013, I completed my FNP from Graceland University and earned Board Certification from the AANP in 2014. In 2020 I opened Aurora Healthcare, a private practice healthcare facility with the mission to bring back healthcare of the past while expanding with its future.

Christian McGowan, FNP-C

Provider

I started my career in the Army as a combat medic turned LPN, working at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda Maryland. I returned to Maine in 2014 after my service and worked as a LPN in nursing homes across the state while I finished my BSN in 2018 from University of Southern Maine. Afterwards I worked as an emergency room nurse and as a vascular access specialist and started my master’s degree during this time. I graduated from Walden University in 2023 with MSN-FNP and received my Board Certification shortly after from AANP. I grew up in Maine and you can find my wife and I hiking with our dogs in the summer and visiting the mountains of Maine in the winter. I am honored to work in healthcare and bring the modern knowledge of healthcare to patients of Aurora healthcare with a friendly and caring approach.

Tina M. Brown RN, MSN, FNP-C

Provider

I received my undergraduate degree in nursing from Husson University. I then obtained by master’s in nursing from the University of Phoenix, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Nursing from the University of Maine, and I am Board Certified with the AANP. I have experience in Geriatrics, Primary Care, Occupational Health, and Urgent Care. I am the mother of 5, and grandmother to 8. In my spare time I enjoy crocheting, reading, and playing with my grandchildren.

I will be a part-time per diem provider and am excited to be a part of the team at Aurora Healthcare.

I started working in healthcare as a Patient Service Representative in 2012. Having worked with a small practice, as well as a larger organization, I have a great deal of experience processing insurance referrals, authorizations, and ensuring prompt, courteous care. I genuinely love what I do and am so excited to be a part of Aurora Healthcare working alongside Dawn to serve your healthcare needs.

As a Patient Service Representative, I am committed to providing compassionate care and excellent customer service to every patient. Outside of work, I am the proud mother of a wonderful daughter and have a background in childcare. My experiences as a parent have strengthened my empathy and understanding for the unique needs of every patient. Aurora has been a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience in healthcare. I look forward to seeing you at Aurora!
